Christmas in July Special!

I know, it's only the middle of summer, how could I possibly be mentioning Christmas!  The weather is ripe for planning your Photo Session, nice weather and beautiful colors make it ideal picture making time!  I know I love sending pictures with my Christmas Cards, usually pictures are my cards, so I want to extend my first ever Chrismas in July Special!

Photographer’s Prayer

As I was wandering some of my favorite "photog" sites I came across this prayer and thought I just had to share it!  I think this holds true to our lives as a whole and not just from behind the camera.

"Oh God, as I bring my subject into focus and prepare to make each portrait, nerver let me forget that I’m creating treasures for some family, a keepsake for loved ones. Make me sensitive to the qualities and virtues of others, that I may draw out into the light the beautiful radiant belongings of their hearts.

Help me to be an artist, collecting the beauty of every soul, the glow of youth, the gentleness, the laughter or tears of each life that is precious in Thy sight. Deeper than a means of livelihood, give me the perspective to see my photographer’s art as a service to others, making life richer and more memorable.

Summer Shoot

Just a share from one of my recent sessions! Hope your enjoying a wonderful Summer!

Summer Time

This month I will be continuing to offer May's Digital Special! My daughters just celebrated their 7th Birthday!  Time flies by so quickly it just serves as a reminder to me why I love photos so much, they capture those precious and fleeting moments in time, forever, such a gift.  Here are a couple of snaps from a recent shoot.

I've decided it's time for a new special!! With the sun starting to shine and having gotten that last (hopefully) spring snow storm, the calendar is now starting to fill up with spring sessions!  I have been getting some feedback over the last few months that most  people really want to have their prints digitally so they can do all sorts of creative things with them.  So I have built this special with that in mind. 

Spring Session Special  $250
- includes session with up to 4 people
- 12 full resolution images as well as copies sized for ideal web applications and emailing
- your choice of 1 custom card creation sized at 5x7 or a storyboard collage in 10x20 in a digital format

As always my sessions are fun and flexible. A typical session is approx 1hr and we aim for as much variety and fun as possible!  Just a reminder too that weekends fill up quickly!

Little Ones!

As my own two girls are now 6 years old (some days going on 16!) It is always a special treat to get to shoot a new little one.  Yesterday I got to take some photo's of little Leah and her big sister Saddie!

First Shoot of 2010!!

Today I had the privilege of working with the Rogers family. The weather was great and the company even warmer. One thing that struck me today was how tender and caring this big brother was to his baby sister. They were a group of troopers as we traipse over very slippery slopes to find a few, out of the way, locations. Thankfully I'm the only one who landed on her very embarrased butt and I managed to break the fall for my camera and not the other way around. Here are just a couple shots for our morning . Thanks Rogers family you were awesome!

2010

Wow! Another year has past, a year that has brought many changes in our home. It was a very full, busy year and I did not get to do nearly as much shooting as I would have liked. Daily life is beginning to settle back down after a wonderful Holiday Season celebrating Christ, family and friends.

I have been working a "real" job since August and that was a very interesting, challenging and tiring time. With my girls being in school full-time I thought it may be good to jump back into the "working" world, 6 months later I am now going to step back and just work a few hours a week. While I enjoy working, I am aiming for a good balance of being the At-Home Mom, working and of course enjoying my passion for photography. I've had the opportunity to get the what-if's out of the way and really make an informed choice on what I want to do and what is best for our family.

I am looking forward to another year of challenges, growing and learning and enjoying the blessings we've been giving. Wishing you the very best in 2010!

Cute New Children's Props on the Way

I have just ordered some new stuff for children's portraits! They are super cute for the infant to 5 or 6 year olds. I will post some examples as soon as they arrive!! So fun!!
